Weekends need to be longer

I believe we should all work 4 days and have 3 days for our weekend! I’ll vote for whoever can give me this when they come to power!!

I am pooped…a busy day yesty, not so busy day today but now I have a nice headache going and am tired. I also need to stop whinging as I think the fiance is planning my demise unless I shutup. Freedom of speech buddy!

We went to the St George Sailing club and it looked like a dump from the outside, but inside surprisingly not bad. It also had gorgeous views.

Now the list is compiled and we need to figure out where we want, 3 venues 1 choice. Hmmm…will have to get back to you.

The fiance and I got invited to see that new movie ‘Unknown’, with Liam Neeson. Wasn’t bad, but I kept thinking I had seen the same concept somewhere else…it had been done before. Oh wow, some guy has an accident and loses his memory, only to find somebody else living his life for him. Kinda tastes a little like the Bourne Identity (except for the other person taking over their life). It did have an ok twist, but I could of waited until it came out to dvd. Ah well, it’s not often that we go to the movies, so it was a nice break.

One thing about the movies I think everyone does – end up eating sooo much popcorn that your lips end up going all weird and all you can taste is salt. And yet, you cannot stop shoveling mouthfuls of  it into your gob. I think they must lace it with speed as well, because you end up eating within the previews time, then you are sooo thirsty you need to down a litre of coke. All this before the movie even starts. Its all part of their master plan!

I have also created a Wish List, unfortunately I am not rich enough to have everything I lay my eyes on. Although if I was uber rich the first thing I would do is have a money fight. I had one in Japan with my fiance, but it just didn’t feel rich.

I mainly want a white or cream leather jacket, and those gorgeous Steve Madden shoes. Need to start secretively spending our h0use deposit….tee hee.

Now I need to go and munch some brie, which I’m totally eating for the calcium and not the fatty tasty goodness.

Birthdays and Food – Best mix

So last night was a bit of a run around. After the wedding dresses with my sister I headed home and got ready.

Chucked on a pair of shorts, nice teal singlet and my flats….hmm no not happy, to casual

Changed into a strapless short black dress….too dressy

Changed into a teal dress which I think I have only worn once before. That’ll do.

I couldn’t believe I changed 3 times….puh-lease, I should of stayed with the shorts and singlet as would of been most comfortable.

Anyhoo, the night was just kicking off around 7ish, met up with alot of V’s friends, I don’t think she realised how many people she invited, as she only had a table for 15 reserved, and nearly 25 people came haha. Oh well, they were able to loiter around no biggie. She loved her gift, which was this amazing necklace my girlfriend and I organised, by the way V – I want your necklace, count yourself warned. Dinner for me was bruschetta (I seriously have an addiction to this stuff) as it was a fair sized serve, and I may have eaten 3kgs worth of pasta at lunch.

Had to say goodbye to V and the fiance and I jumped into a cab to go to Potts Point, to this little Czech restaurant. Such a nice venue, but soooo toasty. We were sweating to death upstairs!I didn’t post anything here about it as it was a surprise birthday dinner for Deb, and she was surprised! I only wish I was there to see her reaction 🙂 We made it before the cake, so planned it well. Ended up leaving about 10pm and headed home. A long long day.

Today we’ll head to the St George Sailing club as a potential wedding venue. Will suss it out and see if it makes the cut. Then we have to pick out of 3 (Kogarah Golf club & St George Motor Boat club). A bit more chilled today in the weather, which is always nice, but so long as it doesn’t go the extreme I am happy.

Alrighty then, I am off venue shopping.

Dress – Bardot

Handbag – Japan markets

Wedding Dresses, and 25th Party

I found my dress….! Or at least one I really really want.

I went out with my sisters to try on some wedding dresses, so I booked in with 2 shops one in the morning and one in the afternoon, that way we can browse other places in between and also grab lunch.

So I went to Oanh Ma in Annandale and she has these lovely made to measure dresses and omgomgomg I want…seriously!
Oh, to be able to afford the dress *sigh* I think I need to learn how to rob a bank…or at least a bottle shop.

Some other dress shops were completely woggy (no offense!!) but I’m talking tulle and lots of it, with boofiness and then the bling…my eyes! I think I lost my sister at one point, a dress may have eaten her. But I did try on a whole heap of different styles so that I know what I want. And I’m not going to say, as the fiance needs to be kept out of the loop.

I wish I could find some pictures of really really ugly dresses and show you what I mean. Some designers must take sick pleasure in creating these manifestations of a crazy mind in the hopes that some poor soul decides to try it on, and it devours her. Brides…beware.

I also discovered what I will have my bridesmaids wear, if they piss me off – I call it, Ode to the Dead Peacock.

MWAHHAHAHAAA…

Anyhoo, I need to go get ready for V’s 25th birthday tonight. Should be fun!

Here is the gray top I scored yesterday for only $8 – Woot!

Top – Chicabootie

Skirt – Melbourne gift from sister

Belt – don’t know, but this is the first time I have worn it, as I always thought it looked weird. Eh, it worked today.

Flats – Sheriton shoes

And something to scare you until I post later with the party update

When I took the pic the lady was like, oh no, you arent allowed to take photo’s. My sis jumped in saying I was checking a text msg. Cos thats what I do, I hold my phone at eye level so I can read text msgs easier, lol. Totally fell for it.

But seriously….you can fit a family of 5 under that thing, and have room for dog!

Pizza, Fish & Chips and my Heathly eating :) Wedding dress shenanigans

What? I am totally eating healthy. There was some veges somewhere on that pizza….and the fish and chips I munched for dinner… Er….Omega 3? Yeah thats right, healthy!

Today was not bad, because it was busy the day went quickly. Also got to catch up with V as it is her birthday tomorrow! yay!

I have a funny story to tell, and I only hope it reads as funny as it was (or you might need to have been there). It all starts with my work, and this girl who works there that smells, really really bad. She is known as Stinky.

So my boss (I’ll call her B) and a couple of other girls were leaving at the end of the day and are heading to the lifts. B and I head to the loo and once out make our way to an open lift (the other girls are already in). Oddly B states that she will grab the next one and I bid her goodnight and head into the lift. One step in and I see the 2 other girls I work with….and Stinky. In a split second I have to decide if I want to be in a small enclosed space with her….do I risk my health and my nostrils??? Quickly I back out and practically run away from the lift, leaving the doors to close and mumbling, sorry I’ll get the next one!

I look around to see B laughing at my antics. Little did I know that she had seen Stinky enter the lift (something I missed) and made and about face. I had totally wandered into the warzone unawares. B had even tried to grab my arm as I walked in, I had obviously missed this. She couldn’t believe I backed out of the lift.

So we were cackling to ourselves as we waited and got the next lift down. Sorry Stinky, but I value my life! To the other girls…I feel for you.

Ah, hilarious. Everyone needs to have a good laugh every now and then ^_^

Tomorrow is my busy Saturday. I head out with my sisters to Leichhardt to try on some wedding dresses 🙂 Woot! Very exciting. So that’s morning to afternoon, then I have to head home and get ready for V’s 25th. Dinner and dancing, which might be a scary sight…I put Elaine from Seinfield to shame. Can’t wait to give V her card, its so cute and funny.

Ergh, that means I have to write on the card. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m not a card person. I mean I don’t mind receiving them, but giving them means I generally have to write more that To….. From…… *sigh* What do you want? A little novelette? I am not going to pour my heart out onto a card, so don’t get your hopes up. Sorry V, but that’s me, I’ll aim for something good tho, lol. The focus is the picture on the front, not what I write 😀

For now I ‘m going to park my bum in bed and watch some Jersey Shore, or maybe a movie! I know, its total spontaneity at my house, look out!

PS. have released my posts to Facebook, so I hope I don’t look like a total ponce ^_^

PPS. Have totally been taking photo’s of my feet at work (to show my work heels) I hope my colleagues don’t think I have a foot fetish…hmm, too late now.

Fare Thee Well

Today we lost one of the good ones. One of the girls from work resigned and it put everyone in a slump. With no warning it was a shock and upsetting. Such a vivacious spirit will definitely be missed 😦

Well I have just gotten back from the Parentals and I’m feeling blergh….I should have stopped at 1 serving of dinner. Why stomach why!?!! But it was a hilarious and extremely loud dinner, as it usually is. Only 10 people, which is small for my immediate family haha (I’m one of 7 children). Yes I know, a nice big Catholic family where my parents obviously didn’t own a TV otherwise there wouldn’t be so many of us 🙂

I did get to surprise my mum with news about my promotion, and I told her (and everyone else at the table) in such a way that my “news” would seem like I was pregnant. She totally fell for it, I wish I had a picture of her face. Was kind of like this monkey, but she isn’t a monkey. I’m hurting your brain aren’t I? haha.

Dinner was yum tho, Chicken & Avocado pasta. My sis and I made it, and by that I mean I pulled the chicken off the carcass and she did everything else lol. Moving right along! We had some fun mucking around with the ingredients and found the the soup mix we added came out of the can, still looking like a can, and it was happy to see you!

Yum, couldn’t wait to munch that! As you can tell, am totally following my healthy eating plan.

Tomorrow I get to wear jeans to work! Once a month we do a jeans day on a friday and donate a gold coin to a charity or cause. Tomorrow we will be donating to help out the Christchurch Earthquake in NZ. What a tragedy! Our company has an office over there and it pretty much got pancaked. The Pyne Gould building was completely flattened. My heart goes out to the families suffering.

Alrighty, on that note I need to head to bed. The outfit of today (these are getting harder to do, I have to plan what to wear so I am not wearing the completely same clothes. And looking at my wardrobe, I do not own many colourful items. Its mainly black, gray, a little red, a couple of greens and that’s it. Fiance I need to buy new clothes ^_^

Oh well, I don’t think that is going to happen anytime soon haha.

Public Transport – How I loathe thee

Ok, this weather is starting to get on my nerves. It goes from really hot (high 30’s) to lows (16 degrees!) and I am ready to punch someone. Weather, make up your mind! We are supposed to be summer, so I should not be sleeping in my winter jammies!

This morning wasn’t too bad, and the train ride in was peaceful and not crammed. I was actually surprised, as most other people when I got on were reading…not listening to load music or playing on phones. Very odd, so odd I even tried to get a photo without it looking like I was stalking anyone.

Kinda hard to do, but I sneaked one in. Anyhoo, was a good ride into work.

Now after a long days work, the last thing people are wanting to do is jam themselves onto a train, as cityrail obviously thinks we love emulating sardines. And then be stuck next to someone who either smells of really bad BO, has loud music on their headphones, or is talking really loudly to another person either on the phone or next to them. This should be quiet time, to chill out on the way home.

I got luckily got a seat on the train (these are very rare, I hope to spot them more often) and then this guy sits beside me and proceeds to increase the volume  to his headphones so that people in the next carriage can hear his music.

*Vent Alert*

Now I have nothing against listening to music, but do I seriously have to listen to you bad taste in music (Eminem)? Do I get on the train thinking …

My tunes are so awesome, I need to blast them through my headphones because I have the most awesome music selection. I need everyone to know I am awesome after listening and wish they were my friend

Well actually no, we don’t. We think you are a tool who will be deaf by the time they are 35, and should be strangled with their own headphones to spare us (and the rest of the world) from listening. So go somewhere else and bother other people. I’m sure you are just going to go home and listen to Katy Perry in your bedroom as well.

So to recap, if your music volume is turned up so loud, that other people can hear the lyrics, then it is too loud and you have approximately 10 seconds to turn it down or you are copping a punch to the kidneys.

*Vent over*

Ah, I feel better now ^_^

So how was your day? haha

Yay, dinner at the Parentals tomorrow night, I get to share my promotion news and also get a free feed.

Now I have nothing else to chat about, wow, that vent blanked my brain. Hmm…on to the outfits!

Beauty Treatments – All in a days work

Hi there! I am home after an ok day at work. Wasn’t too busy, which is fab, but I have plenty to do when I get in tomorrow morning.

I was reading an article today online about Protecting your eyes (mainly the fragile skin around your eyes) from sunburn and aging. This I think is very important, as not many people rub suncream close to their eyes, or even on their eyelids. I know I don’t! Definately a good read and brings to light some good products that can also be a foundation base for your makeup. I may have to hunt this down 🙂

Along those lines I also read about a honey facial the other day. This is the easiest thing to do and is very beneficial as honey is a natural anti-bacterial, so will help remove bad bacteria which can lead to bad skin. Honey is also a natural humectant (I’m using big words!), which means it has the ability to attract and retain moisture.

All you need to do is remove all makeup etc from your face. Then put a warm face cloth on for a few minutes, this helps to open your pores. After this paint honey all over your face and leave for 15-20 mins (might be hard to maintain if its hot ^_^ you might start to melt). Rinse off with warm water, the pat dry with a cold cloth, as this will close your pores. Easy peasy facial!

I was reading the free MX on my way home and it had an article about this teen in Britain who weighs 254kg after losing half her body weight at a US fat camp a couple of yrs ago. How do you seriously put on that much weight!! Put down the twinkie and step away from the fridge! Egads! I was seriously dumbfounded, how would she even get around? Crimeny, I am totally thankful I am not that chunky.

Alrighty, I am off to cut my nails, as I know you all wanted to know that. Seriously, they are so long at the moment I keep hitting other keys on the keyboard, and I accidentally stab myself in the face with them (now that takes skill)

Ciao!
